Hard going into gear

I have a 94 YJ Jeep Wrangler 4 Cyclinder 2.5L 4x4 Manual trans everything stock. I'm having problems with it going into gear sometimes, it feels hard to go in and then only way that I can get it to go in is, to almost slam it in, when I do this, the whole jeep kinda jumps a little however, the RPMs are not affected at all, what could be causing the difficulty to get it into gear? It happens randomly, it's happened in the early morning, at stop lights, etc. Also, when it happens, it happens to all gears, none (1-5) will engage without slamming it in and Reverse just grinds when you try to engage it. Does anyone know what's going on?

Re: Hard going into gear

Clutch is not disengaging all the way. Check the fluid level.

Did you change the oil in it recently?

Re: Hard going into gear

Yeah, sounds like your losing pressure intermittantly. Next time try pumping the pedal up and see if that helps. Check the fluid and maybe bleed the system. You possibly have a leak from either the master cylinder or slave. Master not so tough... slave on the other hand...

Re: Hard going into gear

No, I haven't changed the oil recently, infact, I just got the Jeep about 3 months ago and just started driving it this past week or so. And can you give me information on where the reservoir is for the fluid so that I can check that and maybe even some information on how to bleed the system of any air. Thanks a lot!
