Or even up to 1991 if their books don't go back to 1986.

Re: rear dana 44

hey mudpunk, if you have access to the rear in question--get the build numbers off of it and go see the guys at Gilberts in manchester-that dude knows his "S" big time, has all the old dana books, and was EXTREMELY helpfull a couple years back when my 44 was dying

should be in the phone book-i think the full name is Gilberts Drivelines or some such--if needed i can probably find their card at home

Re: rear dana 44

Check out this Page Dana Expert. Go to the lybrarian link and open the " X510-9: JEEP APPLICATIONS" file, look up the part numbers for the axles in your application. Note, if you need pre 78 years go to " X510-8: AXLE APPLICATIONS- MODEL YEARS 1967-1978". Then open "XGI: LD AXLE GENERAL INFORMATION" and look up the dimensions of your axle part numbers.

So, assuming 86+ grand waggy. Part numbers are: 28497-8X right and 28497-9X left. Looking in "XGI: LD AXLE GENERAL INFORMATION" overall lengths are 29.44" right and 27.44" left with the last 1.81" splined.

Note, it takes a while for the pdf's to load, I have downloaded most of them for future use since this is great parts interchange information.
