Sorta OT: How-To? Reviving dried out dash pads?

Don't know if the plastic of the CJ dash pads are the same material as the FSJ dash boards...

But is there anything to 'revive' (or soften-up, etc...) the dry, brittle vinyl surface? Not cracked yet, & trying to keep it that way!

I read someplace that Armor All would soften and revitalize interior vinyl, but actually hasten its degredation in the long run. Don't know if it's true or not.

Vinyl? We don't need no stinkin' vinyl on no stinkin' Jeeps!

I think the name is "Lexol" or something like that. Its good for leather and vinyl. I know it will keep it pliable, but don't know about its power to restore. I got it at Walmart, but Autozone or a parts place has it.
