Ladies and Gentlemen - This is your captain speaking.

You are flying on the world's first totally automated flight, I am a 7523 computer, no humans are in control.
I have back-up systems to back up the back-up systems. Everything is in total control and safer than if a human was flying us.

We'll be Landing in New York in 4 hours.

Remember - absolutely nothing can go wrong - go wrong - go wrong - go wrong - go wrong - go

Re: Crippled airbus landing at LAX

Airbuses have a 2 man flight deck, all glass cockpit and fly by wire flight controls. The next generation aircraft will replace the first officer with a doberman pinscher. The dog's job will be to bite the captain if he goes to touch anything. The captain's job is to feed the dog.

Re: Crippled airbus landing at LAX

AirBus has had planes falling out of the sky like hail, and more than a few landing gear (and lots of other) problems.
This is what happens when the frogs try and make a plane.

Uh, the Italians are responsible for Fiat. (Fix I Again, Tony) The Frogs sent Renault, Citroen, and a few of Ettore Buggati's jewels.

Re: Crippled airbus landing at LAX

An Airbus aircraft was made up of parts from all over Europe, and now maybe even further reaches than that. I think it's called a Consortium. All under the French company Airbus Industrie, which, by the way, is government subsidised. This point is what Boeing argued as to why Airbus should not be allowed to do business in the U.S. Ah this is a world economy after all and the all mighty dollar,....errrrrr euro is the bottom line. So they under cut the B737-700 contending for most markets. What is it, the Harvard business school ethic....the bottom line today, the bottom line today, the bottom line today? Wait till they see the price of parts .

And the US. Some pretty serious airframe components are manufactured right here.

Re: Crippled airbus landing at LAX

ill just point out what one of my fellow renters(commercial pilot) said--"notice that the wheel is right on the center line"--ok maybe three feet offn it? DAMN nice job by the aircrew--those pilots kicked ass in a very tense and dangerous situation

as to where it was built--hey the french are our friends after all but ive never heard any of the folks i know who fly US military extolling the mirage fighter -----nuff said
