Fillíer up

Hurricane Rita is a category five storm. Itís most likely gonna hit Texas where there are refineries. Expect price gouging if it does. Fillíem up now. I just did at $2.569/gal. Thatís 30 cents cheaper than the Sunday before Katrina hit.

An hour ago, Rita was the fifth strongest hurricane on record, now itís the third. With sustained winds of 185mph, itís expected to take everything in its path.

Dog-gone... had not heard that about Rita... nor did I think through the ramifications of her hitting TX - whether a I or a V.

Taz. I your foresight... and willingness to share it.

I'm about ready to go find a couple to 55 gal drums for gas. Won't last that long, but it may get us through these short-term spikes.

BTW, we got our credit card bill covering the x-country trip from a few weeks back... YIKES! Let's just say we may have to eat some beans-n-weenies for awhile!

Galen,

Just a friendly word-to-the-wise... you might wanna position yourself upwind of my clan & I during the festivities. In view of the chili entree' & being as energy conscious as we are, we'll be obligated to produce some homebrew natural gas (likely in substantial quantities ).

Looking forward to seeing you again... I've been all day, every day getting my junk prep'ed. (Unfortunately, today was 'one of 'dem days. )

Have you also realized that a large number of the people from New Orleans went to Texas after Katrina. Now after being through one hurricane, an even bigger one is headed their way.

Yeah, thought of that. Given New Orleans reputation as a modern-day Sodom/Gommorah, it kinda makes me wonder if the displaced New Orleans folks (now in the path of Rita) are giving any thought to what happened to Lot's wife as she was fleeing...

I think I'd be wondering if Someone was out to get me...

Re: Fillíer up

WOW, $2.54 this afternoon, $2.59 already this evening when I decided to fill up. Wonder what it will be in the morning. (Chaps my hide!) Fortunately we aren't paying taxes through September here in GA. Hate to think what it would be with them. For those of you bordering GA you may want to keep that in mind, I don't know what everyone is paying as I quit paying attention but it may help.
