nv3550 owners here
my tj has a nv3550 and i was wondering if anyone else gets a fairly loud rattle when they shut off their jeep. also it seems to be very klunky if not shifted perfect. and while idleing it is noisy enough that at first i thought i had rod knock. when the clutch is pushed in its silent so its coming from behind the clutch. just wanted to make sure it wasnt "a jeep thing" before thoughts of tearing it apart crossed my mind...

Re: nv3550 owners here
It's a jeep thing.
there a technica service bullitin out to quiet them, but it's not a problem.
mine has made tons of noise since I bought it new in 2000, but it works perfect.
do a search for nv3550 on here and you'll see lots of info.

What elusive said. Mine is a little noisy too but like he said its a jeep thing. There pretty noisy but fairly strong and reliable. No problems on mine. Im pretty happy with it so far.

Re: nv3550 owners here
Mine has been noisy since day one (and we bought it brand had 0.7 miles on it when we took delivery). I even took it into the stealership because of it, and they demonstrated that every TJ on the lot made the same noise. 5 years later it hasn't really affected anything.
