O/T: Anyone here near O\'Hare Intl Airport (Chicago

Need a tad bit of help picking up/shipping a winch from up thataways...

Got a line on a real reasonably-priced winch about 25mi NW of O'Hare Airport... just off I-90. Problem is, the seller says he won't ship - pick-up only.

Anyone here willing to pick-it up for me, and package sufficiently for FedEx Ground shipment? (I have an acct therewith, can arrange the shipping and send whoever the requisite stuff to ship.) Obviously, I do not expect you to do me this 'favor' w/o just compensation.

Pls let me know soonest... [email protected]; cc: [email protected]

Many thanks!

I used to live up in that area and I'd love to say I can help but I'm too far away at school. The only ones I can think of would be Jeeper99XJ's parents and BurnedBronco. I'm not even sure when the next time I'll be anywhere near there might be so I can't even offer it in the future.

Can't make any promises at this point but I might be able to help you out I-90 is about an 1 1/2 South of me but I don't know what my schedule looks like yet. You may want to contact bucky007 I know he drives tractor trailer in Chicago everyday maybe he could get down that way easier. If all else fails let me know and I'll see what I can work out on my end. If I can't get it maybe one of the Illinois drivers at my company can get it.

Re: O/T: Anyone here near O\'Hare Intl Airport (Chicago

Thanks guys. It's in Gilberts.

I think I might have one of the guys over on the CJ-8 board lined up for the 'mission'... he is only about 20mi south of Gilberts.

Time is of no import to me, but the seller stated he wanted to wrap this up by the end of the month. My note to him asking for some add'l detail on the winch has, as yet (3+ days), gone unanswered. If intentional, I'm not real 'impressed' w/ that sort of attitude towards potential buyers... I take it as a 'bad attitude', and have found that - often - those sorts of folks also tend to be 'poor' describers of their junk.

Andy, where do your parents live?

Zach: no, not an M8000. This guy indicates this winch has sat awhile on a shelf in his garage since being taken off his long-gone Jeep. From the pix I saw, it looks like it HAS sat for awhile on a shelf.

If I cannot get something arranged w/ my Scrambler mate, I'll see if the seller can wait 'til the 3rd or later..., but, as indicated above, I am not overly-plussed by his {lack of} response so far.

Thanks again guys! Yet another reason to love this board.

THanks all, but the dork took it off auction. It was a Warn 8274 for $500. After 2 unresponded to msgs to him, I am GLAD I did not get this thing... I suspect the seller is less than forthcoming in his sales.

Thanks again!
