need help please!

Finally got my donor engine all wired up. It turns over great but no spark. Have tried checking all the wiring to make sure i have the necessary plugs hook up, have changed the coil, and have taken another cps sensor(other than my hesco)and hooked it up. Still nothing. I am out of ideas. Please help.

Re: need help please!

Not in RUN, but in START... if the CPS isn't being recognized by the ECM you won't get fuel pressure or spark on START. Measure the voltage on the coil to see if the ASD is not enabling the circuits.

One reason to fill out your profile is so that kind people can send you stuff you may need, like a diagnostic chart from a 4.0L engine.... in PDF format. But you'd never receive it because you didn't include an Email in your profile!

Re: need help please!

Not the coil, the pick up coil. It's in the distributor, under the base plate....I think

Re: need help please!

If it has a CPS, I don't think it has a pickup coil in the distributor.

Re: need help please!

The one on the bellhousing is the Crankshaft sensor and the one in the dist is the Cam sensor. At least that's what my 87 had.

Re: need help please!

!!Update!!
Ok here is what I have done so far. Have changed coil, distributor, all relays, dash is hooked up with same model as wiring harness, fuel pump kicks on and off, ecm is getting power, turns over, and everything that is needed to start is hooked up. Does anyone know of anything, small or big that I have overlooked or possibly need to check?
