Semi OT Free Posters and House Decorating?

Anybody know some places that will give you free 4x4 posters, my walls and bare and ugly. I put my B&M Pro Stick shifter on my kitchen table for a center piece and a little motivation. When i break some more parts i'm going to start a wall of broken parts. I've got some street signs i need to hang up. Any other good "house decorating" ideas i need to spice the place up a lil bit.

Movie theaters will sometimes give you a poster for a movie that just ended...

SnapOn has a great calender...

Just about any major dealer....motor cycles, Jeep, Rover, etc.

Or go to all the local banks and get tons of calanders to cover your wall. My walls are mostly bare, but I do have US and POW/MIA flags up.

Re: Semi OT Free Posters and House Decorating?

Depends on your motives, and believe me, I learned this the hard way...

If you put up a bunch of 'Guy Junk', you won't get laid.
If that's not a problem for you, you are a better man than me!
First off, chicks don't like, and can't relate to car parts...
(took me 15 years to figure than out... )

Invite chicks over to 'Help' you decorate...
Tell them what great taste they always have, and how good they always look,...
And if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could they come over and give them some 'pointers'...

If you get lucky, you'll get one of those 'Take over your life' women, and she'll orginize a 'House Warming' party.
Those crazy ones are hard to get rid of though, so kill that relatioship QUICK afterwards.

At the very least, you'll get some trinket house warming gifts, women rarely come empty handed.
They do have a tendancy to bring useless sh!t (never good stuff like beer), but no matter how bad it is, it will usually fit in the skeet launcher!

Mention a decorating budget, (but never actually turn loose of the cash... that's jeep parts money!)
WOMEN LIVE TO SHOP!
It's good bait to get them over for a beer or two...
and then, who knows ...

Maybe she'll look good in a bikini & dig your Jeep!

Strangely, Andy already has a girl, and she actually does seem to dig car parts. What she's doing with him we're still baffled over....but we're happy for him. I do however, like your way of thinking to get the place decorated. For me, the only way I was able to get my apartment unpacked and cleaned was to get the motivation of a date...and then I figured I had to clean or else I wasn't gettin nothin.

Re: Semi OT Free Posters and House Decorating?

Ummm, had a girl untill i got sick of her bull. I had a couple girls over tonight and got some ideas all the trinkets and stuff moved out the other day. We were sitting on the floor since the futon moved out. I'm thinking a 70's erra freebie couch that's 12 colors of orange and brown would be pretty sweet and after a year when it smells like dog and beer I can find another. I've got a built in shelf that i think will get some of the broken stuff once it's been cleaned up so i don't trash the shelf.

Definetly some Andy style decorating but not too much. My house is boarning now that stuff like the mountains of clothes in the bed room, the baskets of folded clothes in the living room and the 4 million pictures are gone. I'm going to try and keep used parts out of the house and new ones in the basement but the pro stick is a thing of beauty and the women even thought it was cool.

Re: Semi OT Free Posters and House Decorating?

I got the S10 though I had to pay her for it, i told her she could keep it if she pulled all my parts off it. I got the dog too but she has fricken "visiting rights" to see and borrow her.

B&M Pro Stick transmission shifter, i'm too lazy to find a pic.

Re: Semi OT Free Posters and House Decorating?

Just a point to ponder -

"No matter how fine she is - there is some guy, somewhere who is tired of her S**t."

OTOH -

1) The automotive theme decorating is fine for a shop or guy club house (i.e. your rec room in the basement) but is a bit tacky (even for me) in the living room.

2)
The invite them over to "help decorate" and see if you get lucky seems a bit underhanded.
I mean - hey, I like it, but it is a bit shady.

Oh, yeah. To answer the original question.
Try parts houses, performance shops, MAC & Snap-On dealers, Tire stores are good too.
And believe it or not, beverage distributors. They often have motorsports co-sponsors and have promo materials. Think about all the Bud & Busch NASCAR posters in stores near the cold beverages.
