Re: crazy gas shortage?

It seems so elementary………………..

A lot of folks can't understand

how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.

~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~

Nobody bothered to check the oil.

~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~

The reason for that is purely geographical.

~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~

ALASKA

~~~
California
~~~

Coastal Florida

~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~

Kansas

~~~
Oklahoma
~~~

Pennsylvania

and

Texas

~~~
~~~

Our

DIPSTICKS

are located in

Washington DC

Any Questions?

Re: crazy gas shortage?

Very true Galen.

On a side note my gas went from 3.09 last evening to $.00 today and supposed to be $5 tomorrow with many stations out of gas.

What a crock.

Re: crazy gas shortage?

Most places in town where I go to school are at $3.19 now, some at $3.30, and one which happens to be Walmart still at $3.09. I've decided I'm going to buy gas every day and keep topping it off because the price jumps drastically daily. And that way it seems like less to fill up. Too bad my student loans won't take this into consideration.

Isn't that the line of thinking that got us into the situation of long lines and no gas in the first place? That in turn has the prices up to stupid. Everyone needs to calm down and step away from the jerry cans...

Re: crazy gas shortage?

lets review
the problem isn't supply of oil, it's supply of refiners. there is currently as much (if not more) oil available than before the storm. This means there either already is or soon will be a stockpile of excess oil, dragging the price of crude DOWN. If the cost of crude drops, gas will follow...eventually.

Re: crazy gas shortage?

I guess I am a bit old fasioned, but I spent about 28 years buying fuel at under 1.50 per gallon,it took it another 4 years to go up 1.00 and it took it 2 days to go up another dollar. I am stubborn, but I can be convinced but no one is explaining this in any form that makes sense. Even opec admited our consumption has incresed on a predicted rate based on past years. As for the refinerys, My uncle works for a company that overhauls refnerieds and acording to him there are 2 sitting in Michigan right now compleetly refurbished that have not pumped fuel in the 3 years since they were refurbished... So again I have to call BS..
