Re: crazy gas shortage?

One thing to remember about fuel prices is that it does NOT follow the free market. There's a little word called OPEC that operates as a Cartel... or in plain ol' 'Merican Engilish... a monopoly.

That takes free market pressures out of the mix, and the product is nothing more than a product controlled by a monopolistic group.... and we ain't in the club.... so we pay through the nose.

Re: crazy gas shortage?

Were having sparati shortages around here in Northern Ohio. Maybe it's just the gastations with the old pumps that can't go above $3.00 a gallon.

Re: crazy gas shortage?

Interesting Survey on that Link John. "How much does it cost to fill up your tank" I'm now in the $60+ but the majority of the votes are in the $30-$39 range. MAN I WISH!!!!!

Re: crazy gas shortage?

I think we've had it pretty easy on gas prices...

I think $3 or $4 a gallon is not unreasonable to pay for gas. We have just been spoiled and think it's a crock cuz we had been paying $2.

Just my thoughts...but, see sig

Re: crazy gas shortage?

If it keeps this $%!^ up I'm gonna have to get me a moped instead of the dual sport bike I was planning on getting to get back and forth to work when gas was $2.50 a gal.
$60+ a tank full is outrageous! (SP?)

Actually, this is more correct than I want to admit.
Look at gas prices everywhere else. We have been paying a lot less than most of the rest of the Western world for a long time.

Try a
Google Search For World Gas Prices

Doesn't make me like it one bit more, but it does put it in perspective.

Right before all this happened, I bought my first C-c-c-car (almost couldn't make myself say it) in almost 20 years of owning only Jeeps and trucks.
It is a cheap POS car, but great on gas.
So, I guess I am getting a real return on investment at 27 plus MPG. My $1000 car will have paid for itself by the end of the month.

Re: crazy gas shortage?

isn't it predicted that it would take like 7 years to get the oil from alaska into the supply and even then it wouldn't make much of an impact on the price per gallon of gas...just going from memory on that so i'm not sure
