Re: MSD dist . pick up wiring

OK, MSD has ALL of it's tech online, but I'm going to throw you a bone since you are new...

I can't tell from your post, but the title suggest you have an MSD distributor.
If this is so...

Common distributor mag trigger pick-up colors..
1. Ford Distributor.....................+ Orange, - Purple (Violet)
2. Chrysler Distributor.................+ Orange, - Black
3. Chrysler (aftermarket replacment)....+ Gray, -Black
4. GE HEI Distributor...................+ White, -Green
5. MSD Distributor......................+ Orange, -Purple (Violet)

MSD 5 & 6 series modules................+ Violet, -Green (not to be confused with the Orange & Black wires going to the ignition coil)

(What I think you may be trying to ask...)
To connect MSD Heavy Duty Distributor to DuraSpark Module, Orange to Orange, Purple to Purple. You will have to provide a ground wire to the Black HARNESS side of the distributor connection, since MSD doesn't provide a ground connection.

To connect a Motorcraft distributor to an MSD module, Distributor (Positive) Orange to Module Violet (Purple) and Distributor (Negitive) Purple (Violet) to Module Green.

If you have MSD module and distributor,
To connect MSD Heavy Duty Distributor to MSD module, Orange to Orange, Purple to Purple.

Re: MSD dist . pick up wiring

Did that answer your questions?

Sometimes we have to mark our places before there is a lot of, shall we say 'White Noise' gets into the thread...
If you still think I'm an 'Azz', I'll bow out and let someone else help...

Re: MSD dist . pick up wiring

I read your 'azz' post and got flustered....

MSD Module + Violet, - Green
MSD Distributor + Orange, - Purple (violet)
Guess I'd better edit that post...
