Axles cut to width

I have often heard about people finding an axle they want and then cutting it down to width for their application. This seems like an affordable way to go, but how do you get axle shafts to fit your new, non-standard width setup?

Re: Axles cut to width

axually its about $90 for a pair of shafts to get resplined. you just have to make shure the axle can be respined. it has to be full diamter AKA no neck down where you need the new splines at.

Re: Axles cut to width

I think we were paying moser $100 for one shaft to be done, and that included the shipping both ways.

Re: Axles cut to width

moser charged me $75 for cutting two axle shafts down... plus i had to pay the shipping... so it was just over a $100... this was about 2 years ago tho..

don't forget spare shafts, cause the next guy that comes by probably isn't gonna have the same shaft length....
