TJ specific bodylift problems?

Hey guys, I frequent the Jeepster board but my father bought a TJ and is looking for a little more lift. 1" or 1.5" body lift, so nothing extreme. Is this a difficult process on the TJ or no more so than my Jeepster or a CJ? I'm betting because it's newer the lift will be more complex, but I hope not. Any special areas of concern on a TJ bodylift?
Thanks much!!

Re: TJ specific bodylift problems?

1" shouldn't be any problem. 2", you will need to look at moving the radiator, shift linkages, lengthening some hoses...

What he said about the one inch body lift. Also might search for some info on coil spring spacers. There's been posts of some very affordable homemage options recently.

Re: TJ specific bodylift problems?

With a 1" body lift you do have to move the fan shroud to prevent any interference.. Any good lift kit will provide brackets for relocating this.. I would suggest you look towards a Budge Boost (Coil spacers) though, this will be a little more functional, and not a whole lot more..

I personally went with 2" coil lift (coils & shocks), and a 1" Body lift, and it clears 33 nicely..

Which ever you choose, good luck..

Re: TJ specific bodylift problems?

That was the news we were hoping for (2" susp. + 1" body = 33" tires). Pepper (the TJ is painted cyan pepper red) already has a 2" springs from the PO. Thanks alot guys that was the info we needed.
