I quit.. more bad luck!

I think my daughters YJ project is cursed! I spent two nights knocking the hub/spindle loose in the front to upgrade shafts! Finally won, ok, onto battle # 2. You may have read in a past post we where taken on a Stroker Motor..so no motor. for the time being, I decided to do the salvage yard 4.0! So I located a 4.0 in descent shape and brought her home for the install. Backed the truck into the garage and started unloaded. The bolt broke that I had strung the chain through and down she came! Boom! I've used this bolt several times and kept it with the hoist just for this purpose! Another lesson learned! It looks like the only damage is the ear where the block and tranny go together! Time for a break!

Re: I quit.. more bad luck!

I feel for you. It took me 3 weeks to put a "bolt in" axle into my CJ. The rear took 6 hours. The front was another story. It would have been easy if it were not for the -- steering, wheel bearings, hubs, ball joints...

Most of that three weeks was spent waiting for parts to arrive.

Good luck.
