turning radius and bigger tires

Have you guys seen a significant reduction in turning radius when jumping from 33's to 35's or even 37's on leaf sprung YJ's due to the tires hitting the leafs f/r?

Re: turning radius and bigger tires

When I got my jeep years ago, it had stock tires on it... no problem turning.
Then I put a set of 30x9.5s on it, and I did lose some turning radius... not much, but I had to be careful to keep the tires off the springs.
Then I got new rims that had a little better (+/- 3.5") backspacing.. and the rubbing went away. My next step was to go to a set of 33x12.5's on those same rims, and they didn't rub at all.
Now I have a nother set of wheels with 4" backspacing, and I am running 37x13's and although the Jeep doesn't drive currently... I have clearance lock to lock.
As long as you match your tires with correct rims you will not have a problem... but don't put 37's on your stock rims.

Re: turning radius and bigger tires

My 35's will rub the springs.
I didn't loose much turning radius.
Seem to only rub when I back out of a parking space.
It hasn't been a concern.

Re: turning radius and bigger tires

Thanks for the responses. I should have clarified. I'll be running 3.75" bs wheels.
