Chevy motor. Heater box return help..

ok.. I have a chevy motor and soon a radiator that will fit a YJ but works with the motor. But the only thing is i cant find one with a heater core return line. Like a true chevy has.
And in NH i need heat. So where can the return line go?
I have been told of a few T-stat houseings that have the 3/4 inlet but i cant find any. Help.

Note motor is a 4.3

Re: Chevy motor. Heater box return help..

One heater line goes to the intake by the water outlet, and I believe the other goes to the top of the water pump. There might be a pipe plug in there. Here's a pic of the water pump on my 350.

The top of the intake will be the supply side. Your return will either have to be to the radiator or the water pump. If you connect the other side to another place on the intake, you will not have any flow through the heater core.

The feed comes from the back of the intake.
I have seen the water pumps with the inlet but only on V-belt setups. And i have a surp.

I do see what your saying about the flow so the T-stat houseing would not work.

The T-stat housing should work as long as it is plumbed in above the thermostat.

Re: Chevy motor. Heater box return help..

I have got a serp drive water pump on my 350, and I have the same heating set up as Randy.

I do not have the heater lines hooked up in this photo, but you can see the orange hose that I have between them (just to keep anything dirt or crud from getting in) The water pump does have a port for the heat.
I got the water pump from summit, It is a GM performance part. If you would like, I can try and dig up the part number when I get home.

I will see what I can do about digging out the part number on that pump. I am pretty sure that I know where it is.
