Frame welding, D44, SOA, questions etc etc

I've pulled the tub off of my jeep and plan on fixing some frame issues.

I was originially planning on replacing it, but now I feel that it isn't that bad.

Basically I need to weld on a new crossmember. Any suggestions for a new rear crossmember. Piece of angle?

The right rear part of the frame is rusty. Is it possible to weld a reinforcing plate over the inside part/ I remember MORE (mountain off road or somebody like that) having reinforcing plates. How would you go about welding that? What issues are involved with welding on the frame?

Because I have the tub off I was considering doing a SOA. What parts would I need for that? How tricky is it. I'd probably want to use wrangler leafs.

Also I am probably picking up a 73 Commando rear. How hard is it to rebuild, regear, and or install a spool?
