shock question......

went n bought some ranchos for the CJ.....like some kinda idiot i wasnt payin attention [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cussing.gif[/img] and got a set for 2-3" of lift.....i have about 2" of body lift, but suspension is stock height....set one in there and it looks ok but theres only bout 2-3" of compression available when on the ground....am i really gonna have to bring these back or will they be OK? please help, i'd like to get these on today lol

Take them back or lift the jeep. (personally, I would lift...better than body lift)
Don't feel bad...you only make that mistake once....I think everyone makes it at least once. When I bought my CJ, the PO had changed the shocks and they only had about 2" of extension travel left. I'm not sure which is worse...no compression travel or extension travel...but it was rough to drive...took me 6 months to realize what the problem was....I just thought that was the way it was supposed to be....

somehow i knew that would be the answer [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] already got em back in the ford for the trip lol unbelievable....thanks for the advice deputy, 'fraid the lift has to wait at least a year...i got too much to buy already this year, alas worst part is now i go back to store and ya just know ill buy a couple other toys while there....never fails

I haven't posted this link in a while.
1. take your shocks off
2. flex your suspension
3. measure your compressed and extended length between your shock mounts
4. go here to get the shocks that fit your suspension
