who built the sledge from an old axle shaft?

i remember seeing it some time ago, but cant remember who it was or what the thread was called. 'hammer' and 'axle' turn up too many threads.

anyone?

i have some junk shafts that need a purpose...

Re: who built the sledge from an old axle shaft?

It was me and Elusive...I had a 6 pound sledge with a busted handle. We took the input shaft from a 700R4 tranny and welded it in. We capped it with a Dana Spicer u-joint cap, and we call it "Thor". It is an awesome hammer. Maybe Chris can post up a pic of it. It's currently living at his house.

Thanks for thinking of my jeep
Should have called it Mjolnir though, that is the name of Thor's hammer.

I like it... it's a great field fix!

However, next time send the shaft to Jim_Lou. Have him knurl the handle!

That is one awesome hammer. I want one!
