Spicer D20 CV yoke

I picked up a CV yoke the other day, and installed it yesterday. before I ever got around to torqueing the nut down, the damn thing was already binding up in the T-case. I ran the output shaft nut down and now there is absolutely no play int he yoke. I can't budge it a bit. Like I said I haven't even torqued the nut down to the 200-300 lbft as is specified... WTF gives?????

Re: Spicer D20 CV yoke

This is more of a BTT than an actual answer, but...

Did you check it against the original before you put it on?

Did you disturb anything when you pulled the original?

I can take a look at it tomorrow while I am out there.
The only thing that comes to mind w/o seeing it, is if the dimension from the end that rests against the bearing to the flat where the washer and nut sit (IOW - the length of the splines) is way too long - causing it to bottom out prematurly and preload the shaft bearings.

Re: Spicer D20 CV yoke

FYI, the quadratrac 10 spline front should be the same too. That is only in the early ones though. The later ones are 26 spline.
