dana 300 shift rail set screw. Need quick info!!

What size is it. Any tips on removing them? What tool did anyone use? Just a long allen wrench or socket type? The set screws are set in at an offset from the top so how did everyone remove them?

It is soo long ago, I forget what types of screws. I know I did have to remove the tranny access plate at the top, and work under the jeep too. If I recall they are a B*tch to get at. Sorry I can't give you more info. Clen em off real good and get a mirror to see what they are.

Well as it turns out I didn't remove them. I am replacing gaskets and seals and figured it wasn't worth the headache of ripping the whole thing apart. So it'll probably still leak but at least I replaced all the seals and got the case off for the first time. The next time will be much smoother.
