Fiberglass tubs on ebay for $750

Cheap tubs
So, I saw these tubs for a great price. I know that this price is problably to good to be true for the quality. Anyone have any experience, or have a thought?
I sent the seller an email asking him about the manufacture of the tubs, thickness, and whether or not it's one peice. I'm going to have to rent a uhaul or something to get it home, which is another story, but for the cost of the tub and the uhaul, it will be cheaper than one from a catalog with shipping.

I'll let you know if I find out anything else, but I greatly appreciate any thoughs.

Re: Fiberglass tubs on ebay for $750

Well, the price has now dropped to $600. I almost can't afford to pass this up. I would really like to look at them first, but they are 6 hours away. You would be my hero if you live in the Atlanta area and would ride by for me.

It would be nice to know who made the bodies.

The phone number (770-567-1229) being refrenced is for:

D & L 4 Wd Parts Co,
Highway 19,
Zebulon, GA, 30295

Re: Fiberglass tubs on ebay for $750

Those tubs for $600.00 and frontends seem to be a great price, if they are not laminated cardboard. Even at that not bad.

If anybody is heading from the Midwest to get one - and can bring a few back back - I'd be interested in at least one, maybe two. I'd pay my share of the gas. I just don't have the time.

Any takers let me know. WES

Quit drooling, sport. I think maybe you didnít read well, just looked at the pictures.

Quoted from the listing;
ďI have the 1 piece frontends listed in another auction and have over 70 of them for you also.Ē

and;
"You are bidding on 1 fiberglass tub with option to buy more thru a buy it now at an agreed upon price thru EBAY only. The frontend(s) are listed in another auction."

Re: Fiberglass tubs on ebay for $750

Based on the pictures, can anyone tell anything about these? I don't know what other tubs look like from underneath, but it does appear to have the wood for the body mount spots.

I think I'm going to get one. For $600, plus $300 for the truck to drive it home in, it still greatly reduces costs for me.

Thanks for the replies

Re: Fiberglass tubs on ebay for $750

Somebody outta recognize the grill in the front clip. Note the 5 openings instead of the Jeep grill 7.

From looking at his other auctions, they might be seconds or discontinued. No matter how bad it is, itís fixable.

I donít know what to make of the ribs in the bottom. At first I though it could be a little thin and were the ribs from the top but counting the spaces on the top and bottom, it looks like they donít line up so they are probably reinforcement strips.

I noticed the wood too. If itís end grain balsa, itís alright. If itís plywood, it will rot out after a few years. Either way, you could help it by drilling any holes oversized and then coating the exposed bare wood with epoxy.
