GM HEI conversion for AMC V8, anyone interested???

I have figured out how to do a GM HEI conversion for the AMC V8's, I have one running right now and so far it works excellent. Takes a little bit to build one but it is about half the price of the ones you buy like the DUI.

Yes, very interested.......not that I have a V8 to put one on, but I would be interested in putting together a web page for this conversion so everyone can see it. Let me know if you would like to work with me on this.

Yes, I am very interested. A single wire GM HEI would be great, especially not having to pay the DUI price.

Git' the rope Dave.......he's holdin' out on ya........I say .....string him up if he don't come clean with the goods.
(visions of one man in a group that just said he found gold and was going to share it with all of them.....as soon as he gets a small sample tested in town ..he'll be back to tell them where it is ......as he leaves with a 20 mule team loaded to the max with sacks....)

Wow, I guess there is some interest in doing this!! Sorry I haven't written back sooner.
What I have done is actually mate the two distributors together by using the upper portion of the GM HEI and the lower portion of the AMC. It takes some machine work on a metal lathe to make it fit properly but so far the test model is working awsome. I hope to take it on a hard trail run for the final test.
By the way, I have to sign in as ranger from this computer since this new system won't let me use my regular password, I usually go by peanut.

Hi Pea, That is exactly the scheme that has been circulating in my head for two months now. One thing I was uncertain of was the OVERALL cost...by the time all was said and done, it seemed as if I was going to be close to equal to the buyout, and would miss the "setup" that was a part of the DUI package...specifically for our 304. What WAS the final bottom line on this very needy and worthwhile conversion?
