I did this modification INSTEAD of doing a new lift of 4". It actually cost me less to do this, and I keep a lower CG. I have a 2.5" spring lift and slightly longer shackles, no body lift. I put on 35's, but struggled with a larger lift because the current suspension works very well and it set up just right. That's when I decided on the tube fenders.
These are Spyder Customs tube fenders, you cut your old fenders to reuse the inners. In my case, I made it work with fiberglass fenders. Overall, I am VERY happy with this mod and VERY happy I made the decision for this mod. I love the way they look and the added clearance!
Comments on the product and install:
1) These things are HEAVY. Too heavy IMHO. 80lbs + for the pair. This was tough because I am trying to keep weight down, but the +'s were too good to pass up.
2) The fit is pretty good. I had to do some trimming to the mounting holes, but that may have been due to the fiberglass body.
3) Construction quality is EXCELLENT. I am very glad I did not try to make a set of these myself (which I considered). Lots of small details that I would not have made look so good. It's obvious they made many versions of this before settling on this.
First picture is BEFORE, others are AFTER (of course). Sorry for the grainy pics, still figuring out my new camcorder which takes stills. I'll post some flex and wheeling pics when I get a chance.
