Wiring Questions?/ MSD

I just hooked up an MSD system to my 258. Should I put a fuse inline where it connects to the pos. battery? Also, just curious to what everyone thinks about the MSD system. What about a push start button, how do I go about hooking one of these up? Thanks for any help.

Re: Wiring Questions?/ MSD

I'm installing one in my Ford F150. Completed the wiring and fired it up for the first time last evening and the engine ran badly. Now, I will follow MSD's instructions and replace the plug wires, distributor cap and rotor which are all in bad shape. I expect that should help a lot.

My instructions said the MSD is fused internally and to wire it directly to the battery, so thats what I did. I would be interrested to hear how the unit performs for you in your Jeep.

Re: Wiring Questions?/ MSD

I have mine wired direct to the battery. No problems so far. The MSD
definitely helped both the starting and the idle (even with the Carter
Burp-Burp-Die carb). Can't say it helped the MPG much.
