Cheap and easy YJ carb swap options???

I am looking for a cheap and easy carb swap for a '90 YJ 258. We have already done the Nutter and pulled the plug on the BBD. This has worked for about a year, but now it is time for a new carb. I would prefer bolt on parts that you can get at a local auto parts store without any cores. This is for a friends son who is 18, and he doesn't have any money and not many mechanical skills. I was thinking about the motorcraft 2150. This jeep is run mostly on the road and needs to be reliable for trips to college and back.

Thanks,
Tom

The easiest would be swapping in an earlier (non computer) BBD. It is a direct bolt on.

I think it is 83 and older.

Isn't the 2150 to much carb for the 258? If going to a motocraft then the 2100 with the 1.08 venturis (sp?).

2100 and 2150 came in the same sizes, the 2150 just has an altitide compensating circuit too.

I just did the mc2100 swap on an 80 CJ with a very well worn weber...I bought if from the ebay guy who sets them up specifically for jeeps with instructions etc..the only hard part was the trottle linkage however the improvment was amazing & I would recommend it to anyone

I could use a set as well if they are electronic. Mine is ON the YJ, but having issues with the needle at the moment. (That is the over the phone analysis! Thx BillC!)

BTW, our linkage was a pain too, will take pictures of how we did it when I get over to the garage again.
