Starter going bad!

My starter is going bad and i think its time to replace it. Just wondering what you guys think about aftermarket starters and which was the easiest to install and cleared everything fine. I think one from mopar is like $200 and you can get a mean green for like $300. PLus there are alot of others. What do you guys think.

Re: Starter going bad!

Do you know what's bad on it? Isn't it rebuildable? I thought everything in a starter could be rebuilt.

Re: Starter going bad!

I found out the 91 YJ 4 cylinder is not rebuildable. The solenoid went bad on a friends and I couldn't take the solenoid out to rotate or replace the contact. I had to get a whole starter for that simple problem.

Re: Starter going bad!

Dont know whats bad on it yet, havent had a chance to pull it. I know they sell remanufactured starters at like advanced auto and napa so im sure it can be rebuilt, but I can get a good deal on a remanufactured one from a friend at Advanced. So I was either going to do that or get an aftermarket one if it was worth it.
