Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

I have a 2000 TJ and my check engine light is on. I've read about how there should be a way for me to get a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) to come up on the odometer. I can't seem to find anything about how to do this for my particular year. Anyone out there know?

Post on the Jeep board, you'll find more help. Or just go down to Autozone and see if they can read it for you.

Re: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

You have to have a scanner for your model year, the trick for reading the odometer code is only up to I think 96 or 97. After that you gotta go to the shop or by a scan tool $$$$

<font face="Comic Sans MS">On my 2005 Ram 3500 if I cycle the key from off to on 3 times and leave it on the 3rd time (do not start the engine) it will flash trouble codes on the odometer. I assume it's probably the same for other Daimler Chrysler vehicles...</font>
