Cracking exhaust header

Just had my 2nd Banks header crack on '99 TJ. Banks will cover part but not labor. Getting old fast. Anyone had similar problems or using a better header?

Re: Cracking exhaust header

At this point, better is one that works.

I've always felt your better served by going to a local shop and having 'em fab up a tuned header. The cost is about the same and the local shop's accountable for their work.

How about fabing up your own header? Can you weld?

Re: Cracking exhaust header

I'm not a welder. I've been in touch with the dealer where I bought the headers. They are willing to send this one back to Banks, get credit for it and give me the cash to put on another manufacturer's. I know there are several out there. I just wanted to get some opinions. I also have to consider CA's smog BS.
