can i switch the crankshaft damper off my 85 motor and install it on my 74 motor? if i cant switch them out, then i can't transfer my power steering pump over. Any ideas.

Why do you have to move the whole damper? Is it for the pullies? Can't you just move the pully from one to the other?

The pulley on the 74 is only a single groove. so i need the double pulley off my 85(along with the water pump for p/s pump mounting). If i do move the water pump and double pully over to the 74 the grooves wont line up with the damper.

Not sure about 1974 but all of the 198x CJs have a single grove in the damper and then one or two more pulleys bolted to the damper.
