CJ7 Brake Booster/Air Cleaner fit question

I am in the process of upgrading my manual brakes on my 84 CJ7 to a booster and MC from a 95 YJ. Over the weekend I decided to do a test fitting to see what issues I would have. Most notably is that I have a MC 2100 carb and a simple open element 9" air cleaner. However, once the new booster and MC are in place there is certainly no room for the 9" element, maybe a 4" if there were such a thing. Also, since the brake lines exit on the opposite side of the MC on the YJ they are very close to the throttle arm on the carb. This would require a fairly tight bend of the steel lines to clear.

I have the complete YJ brake setup including the bracket. I know there are tons of people of have done this swap and I was wondering what they were doing for the air cleaner, and if the brake lines caused any problems. I realize this would not be an issue if someone is using the stock carter carb and the offset air cleaner. I would just like to hear from anyone who has a similar setup to see what my options are.

Thanks for your help as always.

Re: CJ7 Brake Booster/Air Cleaner fit question

I would just pick up a 1" or 1 1/2" Air cleaner spacer, Mr gasket makes them. This should give you the clearance to run a 9" air cleaner.
At leat that's what i was able to do for a while before i changed the entire Air cleaner set up..

Take a look at these on a 90 YJ, should be the same as the CJ
