Dip-stick

I need a dipstick for my 455.
Anyone know where I can get one?

if you just need the dipstick, you can get generic one at parts stores.

Or you can do what my cheap butt does. Next time you hit the junkyard go grab one out of a chevy van. Fill engine with proper oil amount that it calls for. Cut stick to a proper length. (since it will be 40 miles too long) And then just mark the stick with an engraver or whatever. Total cost = $0 as long as you were at the yard for something else since they usually won't even charge you for the dipstick if you bought something else. [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Well, the book says it takes 4 quarts. I don't think thats right, so I put seven in. Seems to run great, where should I put the mark?

It's a custom "dented to piss" pan. I guess it started as stock.

Anyhow, where should I put the mark? Not at 4 quarts? Do you think?
