TJ CB mount

Has anyone tried the cb mount that mounts by the driver's feet? I need to mount the CB and that is looking like the best option. Any input anyone?

thanks all

Re: TJ CB mount

I tried mine down by my feet, but there were two problems. One, I kept kicking it and knocking the mount off. Two, I could not hear it at highway speeds. I ended up mounting it at the top center of my windsheild. I made two angle brackets out of mild steel. These attached to the windsheild using the same holes that attach the sunvisor clip brackets. Then the radio hangs on these. It works very well. I will see if I can post a picture for you, if you are interested.

Re: TJ CB mount

If you don't want it overhead. What we did for a buddies was put it in the center console then ran an external speaker up to the dash. 2pc of velcro and viola...can't be seen. Adjusting volume and channel are a pain, but you shouldn't have to mess with it much.

Re: TJ CB mount

I put mine on the side of the center console by the drivers feet at an angle. It fits pretty nice with my long legs and the buttons are positioned so that I can access them. Did I have it installed when you stopped by up home the last time?

Re: TJ CB mount

Detail of the drivers side bracket. Sorry it is blurry, but you get the idea. Hope this helps.

Re: TJ CB mount

interesting... nicely made brackets.....

what did you use to bend them...looks like a very clean bend job....hammer? or do you have a bender.....or did you just cut them from a piece of angle steel
