taking care of a winch line?
i forgot what bbs i was reading but, who on here oils their winch cable? how often do you do it, do you even do it and what method do you use? i read using a gear oil soaked rag to wipe the line down while its ran out of the winch, spraying wd40/pb blaster/chain and cable lube while its ran out or just soaking it down while its on the drum...... Re: taking care of a winch line?
I have been known to spray my winch cable with Super lube while it is still on the drum. I would do this when I was bored and had nothing better to do.
I know that my maintenance procedures for the winch line are lacking... I have a synthetic line in the basement, but have been too lazy to switch them. -- Mike |
Re: taking care of a winch line?
i just dump 30 weight on my trailer winch that sits out in the elements.
i spray 30 weight run through my air sprayer wand with 90 lbs pressure behind it on my cable every couple of months on my zuk. |
