OT/ Chevelle! (PICS ADDED!)????????????????

so the guy who owns the house im buying said hes probably going to leave the Chevelle in the garage.... i dont know squat about chevelles....

the body is off the frame, the frame is really nice and rust free, the body is rust free as well but the paint is faded

not sure what year it is, it has a small window seperate from the side windows near the C pillar. not sure if that helps the ID of the year.....

everything is there supposedly but in pieces.

is there a way to tell year from the VIN tag....assuming theres even a VIN tag left at this point.

what do i do with it! he offered to have it hauled away but he said he'd leave it if i wnated it since it would be such a hassel with the body on blocks and what not.....

hes got a 350 (4 bolt main) and a tranny under it....but both prolyl need rebuild

1) what can i look for to ID the year?
2) I dont want it....whats a fair price to have someone have it....im thinking like 300 dollars + you pick it up and its yours (anyone interested?)
3)what the heck do i do with it! i dotn need an other project cuz it wouldnt get done

Re: OT/ Chevelle! ...... ??????????????????????

As a former proud owner of a 72 chevelle I think you should keep it. Part it out if there is no title and sell it if there is. It is a good car and commands a decent price in the market depending on the year (mine had the small rear side windows also). These are very popular cars with restorers and the engine and tranny should bring ya some pretty good change (especially in your area). Does it run? If so, and you can get the title, I'd advertize it for at least 1500.00 depending on condition. Yes, you can ID it from the VIN tag, google for chevelle clubs etc. they have lotsa websites etc. Like I said, a VERY popular car. Heck, I might even take it depending on what ya find out.....like I need something else.....sigh
BTW, does it have an 8 track player? I have lotsa 8 track tapes in Nebo

Part it out... title is not required. Junk what you can't sell.

Re: OT/ Chevelle! (PICS ADDED!)????????????????

cant tell year with out seeing tail lights but hit the Chevelle web sites and send them a picture parting out or whole you will sell it fast if you can get more pictures to show it off. If it wasn't so far I would take it off your hands.

Guys the Chevelle is to a Chevy collector, like your Jeep to you. How would you like to hear about some one taking a rust free CJ that was ready to be restored and heard it was junked cause the guy didn't know what it was?

Re: OT/ Chevelle! (PICS ADDED!)????????????????

Looks like a mid 70's chevelle to me . w/o seeing the tail lights. I had a 66ss, older brother had a 67ss middle brother had a 69ss.so we've had a few chevelles in the family. Gotta be worth more than 3 bills even if its a malibu

Re: OT/ Chevelle! (PICS ADDED!)????????????????

I'm saying a 74 to 75 Chevelle as a guess. I think it's probably the Laguna package from the interior. Not worth a lot, but there are a few people that would look for them. If you live next to a bronco stock track, that's where I'd start.
