sm420 4 spd.with dana 300 will a twin stick fit?

I just picked up a new twin stick for the dana 300 that I have behind a sm 420 chevy 4spd. with a advance adaptor. I went to put it on and it looks like I won't be able to make it fit. Do you guys know anybody that is running this set up with a twin stick? If so how. Thanks Aaron

So what interfers the transmission or the adaptor?

Seems like the twin stick would be well out of the way.... Have one but it isn't installed at the moment.

Is this the one you have?

Click picture for more info.

Yep, the flat iron on the bottem of the twin stick looks like it will hit the trany, I have to take a nother look at it,I thought about it last night and I might be able to shorten the linkage to move the twin stick back from the tranny. I hope it works, thank you. Aaron

Re: sm420 4 spd.with dana 300 will a twin stick fit?

So how did it fit up?

I picked up my spare D300 over the weekend from a friend's house (been sitting around there for nearly a year). I had fixed the linkage for this Twin Stick on the spare, got bent up when the front drive shaft broke the yoke.

There is only a bit over an inch to spare with a T5.

Don't ask about the T5 case / bell-housing (all broken) because I will tell you.

But it is handy to see how things fit.

Looks to me like you could tip the linkage up or down to try and avoid interference. There are three sets of holes so if you can move back close to the D300 then cut off what you don't need....

Just some thoughts, let us know how it comes out.

I *think* there was some info over on Pirate Off Road where a few people had the same problem, might check there.
