Battery, or Alternator?

Heres the problem. Went out to my Jeep a few minutes ago, turned the key, nutin. So ok, I got a dead battery. Called up a buddy to come give me a jump, hooked everything up, and she fired right up. So, ok i drive around the block a few times, and my stereo was on, and one of my buddies was coming twoards me in the other lane, so I flicked my lights at him, and the stereo turned off, and turned back on. WTF? So i do it agian, same thing. So I park her in the parking lot of the school, turn in off, and try to turn it back on. Nothing. So i turn my headlights on, go scoope em out, and nothing. Now I know that when I have it on, i can disco my positive battery cable and asses the situation from there, but know I can't get a jump cause nobodys around. Anybody have this problem before? Battery or alternator? Or somthign else. Chris

Re: Battery, or Alternator?

Check battery under load with a load meter. I suspect you've got a shallow charge.. and reconfirm you've got good grounds.

Exactly, most Auto Parts Stores will do a charging system check for free (in hope that you need a new battery or alternator).

I hope it's a loose connection and you drive away with a new air freshener.

Good Luck
