Ryan how exactly are you bleeding them? Make sure the petal never hits the floor, and they should pump up/ Are there any leaks anywhere?

Re: help me with my brakes please

I had the same problem with my 93 YJ and it was really puzzling because I had replaced the rotors, drums, pads, shoes and MC. I bled them so many times and flushed all new fluid through and they still didn't work right. I thought it must be the booster but it checked out fine according to the normal tests, it held vacuum, the pedal dropped when the engine was started and it didn't hiss or anything but it just seemed to be the culprit. Evidently it had an internal leak in the diaphragm because I finally replaced it and my brakes worked the best they ever have. Usually when a booster goes bad it causes a hard pedal, but I have since talked to several other people who have had jeep boosters do the same thing.

Re: help me with my brakes please

does it have ABS?

did you follow the proper bleeding sequence?

have you tried gravity bleeding it?

what method of bleeding did you follow?

Re: help me with my brakes please

I had a similar problem with the brakes on my truck when I did and extensive brake job. I did the calipers and rotors, etc... The system woulod appear to bleed out fine but when I went to actually drive it, pedal to the floor. The end problem was I had the calipers on the wrong sides so the bleeder screws were too low to get all the air out of the sytem. I swapped sides, re-bled the system and no more problems.

Re: help me with my brakes please

Had a similar problem with my daughters Mustang....ended up being a bad vacuum booster for the power brakes....go figure....last thing I would have suspected.
