Re: NAIAS Jeep Pics **WARNING: NOT DIALUP FRIENDLY

Well, if that's what DC has in mind for independent suspension on Jeeps, then I can deal with it.
I guess I'll crash the party, but why, even in a concept vehicle, would you need TWO hemi's? Or even 2 engine's? Is it something they did to make the wild steering/suspension possible that couldn't have been done with one engine? Or was it more of a "we'll never really make it so lets get crazy with it"?
Sweet rigs though, no matter what their motivation was.

Did you also happen to notice that the wheel assemblies are PORTALS?!?

Double wishbone control arms...
A pumpkin that floats with each suspension assembly...
4 wheel steering (including ability to turn in its own radius )...
Portal hub assemblies...

Friggin walking drool machine.

If half of this crap makes it to production and stands up in the real world, I'll be thrilled (and broke).

Did Ford have their throw back version of the Bronco at the show? If so, did you get some pics?

Actually, you're not going to believe this but, No. I was shocked myself. Instead, they had an ugly... SOOO PAINFULLY UGLY concept that I almost yacked when looking at.

See Below. Yack.

If you think it's ugly there (and it is).... Just wait until you see it running high speed up your tail pipe while driven by some ditsy, attention deficit, cellular challenged freeway jockey that left the house two minutes late that morning.

Re: NAIAS Jeep Pics **WARNING: NOT DIALUP FRIENDLY

I know this is a concept truck, But what irritated the HECK out of me were the combination locks near the doors. Now, I didn't hang around to listen to the talking head describe why this concept was supposedly "not an ugly POS," but, I didn't manage to notice that you have to TURN A COMBINATION KNOB to open the door.

Hmm... I thought that concept cars were supposed to be futuristic. I'm more impressed with the new Lexus that senses your presence and unlocks doors, pops trunks, and starts cars without a key. Yet, this concept suv has a combination lock?
