Chevy radiator in a Jeep

Well its time to work on the cooling system..

Here is the thing. I can get a New chevy Rad for just under $100 and thats much less then a custom Rad that will fit in the YJ.

So im looking for any info on puting a Chevy Rad in a Jeep pics would be the best..
Looking at how its setup up im thinking of just going to the junkyard and get the front grill from full size and cuting off the holder and just fiting it to the Jeep grill. Oh ya and i want to keep my heat to. and on the setup i got the V6 from and how my fullsize is setup the outlet for the heater core dumps into the Rad not into the pump like my 258 did..

Motor = Chevy v6 4.3l
Jeep = 88 YJ

Thanks.

I'm collecting the parts do do the same swap. Check www.extremeradiator.comfor one rad option. Another option is to get a universal aluminium rad from Jegs or Summit (approx the same price) and either fab brackets.

Thnaks. But im trying to stay away from custom things like that. And that Rad dose not have the Heater core input.

Re: Chevy radiator in a Jeep

Are you sure you have to have a Chevy radiator in the Jeep? What size is the one you have now?. Right now I have a '79 CJ-7 (Golden Eagle)that originally had the 304. It now has a Chevy 350 but it doesn't look like they changed out the radiator. Before this one I had an '84 CJ-7 with the 258. Driving around sunny San Antonio one day and the radiator blows. The one I replaced it with was for this set-up but bigger core. It was every bit as big as the one I now have for the 350. Now you may have to search with the NAPA man for hoses to fit. Worth looking into?
