if its a TJ you can just run the seat belt loops form the floor up through the center of the rim and criss cross and buckle the seat belts and it will hold in a rollover and not move.
we have doen this on a tj and it has rolled 3 times, one end over, and one barrellroll, plus a hard flop and the tire has never moved.

I was afraid that I was going to have to put a lid on this - nip it in the bud, so to speak.

Carry on.

Jim, you should file a law suite against Janet Jackson for "Pain and Suffering".

Hmm maybe a class action thing....

What??

I don't think I'm understanding what it is your wanting to do?

Spare tire on the floor and a "rack" above it? Inside? In the back? What?!?! Why?

How would you get to your spare if you needed to?

How about a swing out tire carrier and one of those big "drawer" boxes. It fill's the back floor and has a huge drawer that rolls out. You can stack all kinds of crap on top of it. Pat had one laying around for years, he just sold it when he cut his jeep in half.

Let me see if I can find a pic of one.

Here's one
