89 YJ Warning light?

Gentlemen (I obviously use that term loosley),

I have an amber "arrow" (pointing up) that comes on and off on the warning light panel above the steering column. What is it? Any ideas?

It acts like it's a short 'cause it kind of "flickers" on and off some times.

Thanks in advance.

Is it a 5 speed? The light come on about the time you get into the power band while excellerating...? It is supposed to tell you when to shift...for best fuel economy...

Thanks! That's exactly how it's acting. And it makes sense with the up arrow.

It reminds me of a vacuum guage sensor.

It just threw me off 'cause it just started working.

Thanks again!

Would be my suggestion that you remove the bulb.

Or at least ignore it.
Heck, I'd be running in 4th at 30MPH if I paid attention to mine.
Worthless.
