360 swap - Power steering Q\'s
I picked up a complete 360 from a 79 Wagoneer. I'm assuming that since is a 79, then it uses compression fittings on the pressure hose. My steering box uses the O-ring fittings. I've done a search and can't find a fix for this.

Would a P/S pump from an 80's Wagoneer use same O-ring fittings?

Is there an adapter fitting to mate my O-ring hose to the compression style pump?

Can I use the P/S pump(o-ring style)from a 258 and fit it to the 360 P/S brackets?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

you can use the other pump... you can also swap lines... or you can cut the line.. and swap ends.. and just reflare them... and you can also swap gear boxes... when swapping gear boxes.. watch the output shaft.. they are different sizes.. i believe my waggy was smaller than the cj steering shaft i had.. so i used the waggy lower steering shaft... its been a few years.. so look at the size of that output shaft.... (where the splines are)

Thank you for the response. If I can use my 258 pump, then I think that's they way I'll go.

Another option you have is to get a set of custom hydro lines made. Most hydrolic shops will make you up a hose with what ever ends you want, and what ever length you want, and the cost is pretty low.
There are even a couple of auto parts stores around me that do it. It may be easier to get new hoses, than to switch your steering box.
