Pic of bumper and winch mount

The bumper is box tubing I welded some ends on. I found some 1" thick steel at the shop and machined some mounts (welded front and back) for the D-rings. The mount for the old Pierce 9000 is a piece of 3/8 angle I split and welded back together to cradle the winch. As you can see the winch blocked one of my turn signals so I mounted a couple of small led lights with some stainless steel guards to keep it legal. I like the leds and have them on the trimmed fenders and the rear of the jeep. This was a fun little project and I think it turned out alright.

With everything painted black It's hard to see exactly what you've done, but what shows looks good!

Never heard of a Pierce 9000, but it looks like the old Ramsey electrics. Is it a knockoff or a rebranded Ramsey?

Re: Pic of bumper and winch mount

Pierce has been making heavy duty winches for about 25 years. Mine is around 10 years old and they still make them. They also make a lot of wrecker stuff. www.piercewrecker.com This is a winch like mine that you can still buy for around $550, not bad for a 9000lb winch.

Here is a side shot that shows a little more of what I did.

Re: Pic of bumper and winch mount

Not meaning to take the thread off topic, but want to say the Pierce winches are good stuff.
I ran one for years. Wouldn't hesitate to have another one.
My only complaints were it was a little slow; and being large and a bulky it was somewhat difficult to mount on a CJ.
They are a little primative, by current technology standards, but nearly bulletproof, and it would pull ANYTHING I hooked it to or stretch the CJ frame trying.
