OEM pointless ignition from DJ

I had a friend tell about a I-6 DJ in the junkyard here locally, so I went down there to see if there was anything I might need. Most of the little do dads were gone but the engine had what looked to be an electronic ignition breakerless distributor. It also had a standard coil hooked up to it. Are these any good as an upgrade or just junk?

Re: OEM pointless ignition from DJ

Do you have any idea what year DJ you are looking at?

All of the 198X vintage CJs had electronic breakerless ignition. So if that is the distributor that you are looking at it could be used to do the TFI/HEI setup.

I'm making a couple of pretty large assumptions in saying that. Not even sure that a electronic distributor from a 198X I6 will fit a 197X I6.

Maybe someone knows?

According to the writing on the windshield, it's a '75. I looked around and found a pic showing it to be a Prestolite. I found the pic on an TFI conversion site.
