84 CJ Sway bar link removal - how to ?

Without wanting to ignite the 'who needs a sway bar anyway' discussion, I am trying to take the sway bar links off my 84 CJ7 and cannot get the top link to seperate. Is this just a threaded pin/bolt that should be able to be driven out (towards tire)? I have beat on it, and tried a pickle fork but it will not giving an inch. I have also soaked the whole top area with PB blaster as well. It does not appear to be rusted from what I can see and the bottom nut came off relatively easy. I suppose I could try to heat it with a torch but that would likely melt a good poly bushing.

Any tips on what I am doing wrong? I would cut the #$%^@ thing off but need to save it for a homemade disco project.

Thanks for your help.

Should be able to drive it out. I don't think it is even tappered. I remember that I had to cut the nut off on mine, but the pin removed with a hammmer blow.

As I remember they are tapered, and mine were the same way. They would not let go. Finally I ended up pulling the whole sway bar off. I put it in a huge vice, and I beat the snot out of the ends. They finally did come off, but it took a lot of effort.

Keep workign on them, and try a bigger hammer, they will come off.
