O/T IT MUST BE CHRISTMAS! (pic..newstuff 4 me)

new for me, but slightly used.....many of you prolly have one, or have shot one....it was just too nifty to pass up...good ole 10/22, heavy SS barrel, Fajen Sillouette stock, Leupold scope base, bushnell 3-9x scope.

Cant wait to shoot it! I feel like a kid at christmas whos missing the batteries on a new toy....except i just cnt shoot till sunday...same difference!

Sweet Greg! I'm envious!

I bought a 10/22 years ago to fix up w/ bull bbl, scope, etc... but have never gotten around to it. Wanted to start competing in those 3-gun matches that used to be popular...

Congratulations on your acquisition!

NIce gun Greg. Great bang for the buck if you can pardon the pun. The old rugers are an awesome piece without totally breaking the bank and can be modified to anyones taste on a smaller budget.

Enjoy her.

Re: O/T IT MUST BE CHRISTMAS! (pic..newstuff 4

beeeeutiful!!! I have one similar to that. Green Mountain .920" bull barrel, with a Boyd's stock. Still need to upgrade my scope mounts though. Stock ones suck. How much did you pay if you don't mind my asking?

I've found that for my Green Mountain barrel, I can't use the factory clips for it, regardless of ammunition used. It keeps jamming because of the tighter tolerances inside the barrel. So I use a 10 round Hot Lips magazine. I think it has something to do with the rotary part of the factory clip. Gets it jammed in there on an akward angle.

That's really cool! I've long thought that it would be a lot of fun to have something that would drive finishing nails at a couple hundred yards. What muzzle velocity does that have?

Re: O/T IT MUST BE CHRISTMAS! (pic..newstuff 4

I PM'd you what i paid......since it was a lil high i thought i'd save face and keep it private :-p...

Jim:

its only a 22, so muzzel velocity ranges from 1050-1200 with a 40 Gr bullet.....

i've seen people drive tacs at 50 yrds with 22's but the problem at 100 yrds is the wind, such a light bullet can get blown off course pretty easy...

you should look into .17HMR caliber.....4000 fps at the muzzle....great for distance, and i hear they are really accurate in the right gun.....or if you want bigger try a classic .308 or maybe the .300 Winchester mag.....
