AMC 20 limited slip locker options

I will be putting in a new ring & pinion in my CJ next week, and figure I might as well put a locker in while I'm there if I can afford it. As far as I know, the only "lunchbox" type that will work with my stock limited slip carrier is the "no-slip" by Powertrax. Are there any other options that I'm not aware of? I'm not sure if I can shell out $500 for a Detroit right now.

Incidentally, what's the lowest price kicking around for a Detroit these days?

Take it easy...

Call/Email DC4WD before you spend a dime. He's always had the best locker pricing around and is a nice guy to work with.

It would be cheaper to buy an open AMC 20 carrier and a lockright than a No-Slip.

And someone on the board just might have a carrier you could get pretty cheap... like oh $20 and shipping, or trade for a ?? heck I don't know - what do you have you just don't want anyway? Thus leading to a small amount of empty space in that other BBS member's clutter.

Also depending on the ratio that you want to use.

Oh! No spider gears or cross shaft, but you shouldn't care. I will have to check and be sure on the carrier break but I'm thinking that I have one that was 3:54 so that should be good for you.

Do I still have two??? Are they the same??? Some days I'm just cornfused after 1am.

If you drop the big $$$ for the Detroit.... nevermind.

Dale

Re: AMC 20 limited slip locker options

Hey Dale, I'm looking for an AMC 20 carrier to replace my 2.73 gears with. If you're interested in selling one of the carriers for the larger gears please let me know how much you are asking and I would also need it shipped to 33880.

Thanks

If you are going to a different ratio I can help but if you are using the 2.73 gears the carriers that I have are not the correct one.

I dug out the box and have two AMC 20 carriers, a good set of 3.54 R/P (also have matching front Dana 30 3.54). Very questionable set of 3.31 R/P and one set of spider gears that I wouldn't suggest anyone use (except for paper weights or conversation piece). I don't think that I will ever need any of this stuff, PM an offer if you want it.

Re: AMC 20 limited slip locker options

Dale,
I'm looking to put in 4.10's (Running 33" tires) So the only thing I really need are the carriers so if you want to give me an amount for those. And I would need them shipped to 33880. My email is [email protected] if it makes communicating easier.

Thanks
Ed

Dale,

I sent you a PM, and would be very interested in the leftovers if Ed doesn't take them.

Thanks,
Jat
