basic battery question

hi there

my battery seems to lose it's charge after sitting over night

the best way to determine if i got a bad battery or another electical draw would be to charge the battery, unhook it from the electrical system...

come back the next day and if the battery is still charged...i have a continuous draw somewhere in the electrical system...

if the battery is dead then something is wrong with the battery

right?

i bought the battery thiss spring but have abused it trying to get my jeep started...the battery does have a 7 year warrenty though

thanks
patrick

Re: basic battery question

1. How dead is dead?
2. IF the battery powers lights,
3. And other lower draw circuits,
4. But then dies at start...
5. You may have a shallow charge.
6. IF you jump the battery,
7. With a running vehicle...
8. And it starts right up ...
9. It's a shallow charge.
10. Charge the battery...
11. Let it sit for TWO days disconnected,
12. From the Jeep...
13. Remove the battery,
14. Go to an Auto Parts store,
15. And use the Load Tester to test it...
16. Then you know it's NOT the battery.
17. While you're at it...
18. Pull the starter and have it tested,
19. The more information you have,
20. The better it is...
21. Knowledge is power.!
